1501:31-11-12. General regulations; refuges

  • (A) All state game refuges established by the chief of the division of wildlife shall be posted with state signs designating such areas.

    No person shall at any time hunt, trap, take or possess a wild animal on any area owned, acquired by lease, agreement or otherwise under control of the division of wildlife, which has been designated a state game refuge except when authorized by the chief of the division of wildlife, except that fish may be taken and possessed on state game refuges unless expressly prohibited.

    (B) It shall be unlawful for any person at any time to hunt, take or possess any wild animal, except fish, frogs, or turtles, without written approval by the chief of the division of wildlife on any land or water designated as a state game refuge.

    (C) Any division employee or other authorized persons may enter upon any land or water posted as game refuges after permission for such trespass is authorized by the wildlife chief.

    (D) It shall be unlawful for any person to hunt any wild animal within any area posted with signs reading "National Wildlife Refuge, Unauthorized Entry Prohibited."

    (E) All definitions set forth in rule 1501:31-1-02 of the Administrative Code shall apply to this rule.
