3339-20-02. Definition of unclassified service and classified service

The civil service of Miami university shall be divided into the unclassified service and the classified service.
(A) Unclassified service
The unclassified service shall comprise of positions which meet the exemption criteria under the FLSA; and positions in one of the following categories: part-time intermittent; part-time professional; salaried positions; research related; police sergeants; police lieutenants; student employees; graduate assistants; and teaching assistants. These positions will fall outside of the purview of the classified civil service.
(B) Classified service
The classified service shall comprise of all positions not specifically included in the unclassified service.
