4101:6-1-18. Information for retailers of bedding, upholstered furniture and stuffed toys

  • (A) It is the responsibility of the retailer to make certain that any article of bedding, upholstered furniture, or stuffed toys which he offers for sale in the state of Ohio regardless of where manufactured, is properly labeled, is licensed and is in compliance with all provisions of the law. Retailers are subject to the penalties outlined in rule 4101:6-1-18 of the Administrative Code when any article of bedding or upholstered furniture in violation of the law is possessed for sale or sold by them.

    (B) Requirements for bedding, upholstered furniture, and stuffed toys manufactured from the various classes of material are clearly outlined elsewhere as follows:

    (C) Each manufacturer or wholesaler of bedding, upholstered furniture, or stuffed toy now must obtain a license with the state of Ohio. The names of manufacturers and wholesalers who are licensed in the state of Ohio may be secured by contacting the section of bedding and upholstered furniture inspection.

    (D) Inasmuch as the ultimate intent and purpose of the laws are to protect the health and promote the general welfare of the citizens of Ohio, the cooperation of retailers will be of immeasurable help in accomplishing this end.
