4758-17-03. Military application processing

  • Pursuant to section 5903.04 of the Revised Code, the board shall adopt rules which outline a process to prioritize and expedite applications for service members, veterans or their spouses, a process to collect documentation sufficient to demonstrate service and a process to record, track and monitor these applications. This rule utilizes section 5903.01 of the Revised Code for definitions of service member and veteran.

    (A) Individuals or spouses of individuals who are veterans or members of the armed forces may have their application expedited by completing a "Military Request Application Addendum" form and returning it to the board with documentation of military service.

    Documentation of military service shall include a copy of the DD 214 form or proof of current service.

    (B) Applications that are received with a completed "Military Request Application Addendum" form and documentation of military service shall be

    (1) Logged into the applicants electronic record with the board and flagged as eligible for military priority processing.

    (2) Placed at the top of the next days review schedule for that particular application type.
