    NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

     

    THE OHIO STATE BOARD OF COSMETOLOGY, pursuant to CHAPTER 119 of the Ohio Revised Code, hereby gives notice that it will conduct a public hearing for the purpose of considering changes to rules 4713- 21-01, 4713-21-02, 4713-21-03, 4713-21-04, 4713-21-05, 4713-21-06, 4713-21-07, 4713-21-08, and 4713-21-

    09 of the Ohio Administrative Code.

     

    Amended:

                                                    Rule amended to correct grammatical errors.

     

                                                    Rule amended to correct the renewal period beginning and ending dates to reflect ORC 4713.01 and define the continuing education audit.

     

                                                    Rule amended to clarify the continuing education requirements specific to the different types of practicing licenses and to remove the out-of-state provision.

     

                                                    Rule amended to specify the licensee's responsibility to retain their documentation of continuing education course completion.

     

                                                    Rule amended to correct grammatical errors.

                                                    Rule amended to correct the division of ORC 4713.10 and correction of grammatical errors. 4713-21-07     Rule  amended  to  include  the  OSBC  website  as  a  method  of  notification  as  it  pertains  to

    continuing education.

     

                                                    Rule amended to provide requirements specific to the different types of continuing education courses and correction of grammatical errors.

     

                                                    Rule amended to specify the reporting and notification requirements of each type of continuing education course.

     

    The public hearing on the proposed actions of the State Board of Cosmetology will be conducted on Monday, November 22, 2010. The hearing will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Board Office, 1929 Gateway Circle, Grove City, Ohio 43123, and from time to time thereafter as may be required by the Board to hear all relevant testimony, oral or written, by any person affected by the proposed action, his/her attorney, or both.

     

    The full text of the proposed rules will be available on the Board of Cosmetology's website, http://cos.ohio.gov. All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard. Those persons who wish to provide oral testimony at the hearing are encouraged to inform the Board prior to the hearing date and may be given preference in the order of their testimony. Persons interested in providing written comments in lieu of oral testimony may direct them to the attention of Kevin L. Miller, Director, Ohio State Board of Cosmetology, 1929 Gateway Circle, Grove City, Ohio 43123. These written comments must be received by the Board before the close of the hearing record.

     

    Copies of the proposed Rules will be on file with the Secretary of State, the Legislative Service Commission, and the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review, at least thirty days prior to the public hearing, and are available at the State of Ohio Board of Cosmetology Offices at the aforementioned address.
