    This rule is being filed for the purpose of setting forth a regulatory framework for the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) motorcycle training program.

    This rule sets forth the process for renewing a provider's certificate of approval.

    121.71 to 121.74 of the Revised Code because the text or other material is generally available to persons who reasonably can be expected to be affected by the rule, provide an explanation of how the text or other material is generally available to those persons:

    While this rule references the Revised Code and the Administrative Code, incorporation by reference of such information is excepted by section 121.76 of the Revised Code from the requirements set forth in R.C. 121.71 to 121.75.

    Revision language in paragaraph (D)(3) clarifies that the site coordinator must submit the criminal abstract or, if there is no site coordinator, the authorizing official must submit the criminal abstract within 45 days of such request.

    This will have no impact on revenues or expenditures. 0

    The department does not expect to incur any costs regarding the renewal of provider certificates. The majority of the renewal applications can be sent via electronic mail, thereby eliminating or reducing the cost of postage and copying.

    Providers wishing to renew their certificates of approval may incur postage costs associated with mailing the renewal application; however, these costs can be avoided if renewal applications are submitted to ODPS via electronic mail. In addition, providers may incur costs of approximately $35.00 if asked to submit a criminal abstract.
