NOTIFICATION OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice of hearing to a mend Rules 4765-8-01, 4765-8-17, 4765-8-18, 4765-9-01, and 4765-9-02;
to adopt Rules 4765-8-02, 4765-8-03, 4765-8-04, 4765-8-05, 4765-8-15, 4765-8-19, a nd 4765-10-03;
and to rescind Rules 4765-8-02, 4765-8-03, 4765-8-04, 4765-8-15, and 4765-10-03,
of the Ohio Administrative Code in accordance with Chapter 119. of the Ohio Revised Code.
Notice is hereby given that a hearing will be held by the State Board of Emergency Medical Services (the "Board") for the purpose of considering the proposed amendment, adoption, and rescission of the above-listed administrative rules.
As authorized in R.C. 4765.11, the Board proposes to amend , adopt, and rescind the above-listed rules of the Ohio Administrative Code. The proposed amendments, adoptions, and rescissions are in compliance with five -year rule filing requirements as set forth in R.C. 119.032. Proposed changes to Chapter 4765-8 entail clarifications and modifications regarding qualifications for a certificate to practice, application procedures, notification requirements, renewal qualifications and procedures, examinations, certification by reciprocity procedures and requirements, procedures for voluntary surrender of a certificate, reinstatement procedures for expired certificates, and reinstatement procedures for suspended or revoked certificates. Proposed changes to Chapter 4765-9 entail clarifications and modifications regarding professional standards of conduct and procedures for EMTs and EMS instructors, respectively. Proposed changes to Chapter 4765-10 entail clarifications regarding the types of offenses and/or violations for which the EMS Board may take disciplinary action against a certificate to practice, certificate of accreditation or approval, or certificate to teach.
A public hearing on the proposed rules will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. in Room 134 (first floor) of the Ohio Department of Public Safety, 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223.
Either written or oral testimony will be received at the hearing. Additionally, written comments received at the address below before the hearing will be treated as testimony.
