3301-28-04                  Responsibilities of the department of education.

 

 

 

(A)   The schoolnet office shall develop application criteria for schoolnet plus consistent with the specifications of Section 45.36 of Am. Sub. H. B. 117 and these administrative rules.

 

(B)     Conditional approval of applications may be given upon receipt of additional documentation from districts in cases where:

 

(1)   The district does not adequately address the issue of how it can effectively and efficiently integrate the education technology into its curriculum, or

 

(2)     The district does not comply with other components of the application as specified by rule and determined by the schoolnet office.

 

(C)     In its application approval process, the department of education may designate "schoolnet plus demonstration sites" from among the applicants. The designation will pertain to a specific school or schools within a district application. Schools so designated by the department will be able to demonstrate significant progress toward the achievement of the schoolnet plus mission and can serve as a model for other schools to follow.

 

(D)   The department of education shall review the results of the fourth grade proficiency test as one means by which the impact of schoolnet plus can be measured. Additionally, the department may explore other quantitative and qualitative measures.
