Public Notice

 

The Department of Agriculture, State of Ohio, hereby gives notice it will hold a public hearing for the purpose of accepting testimony on the following proposed changes in the Department's administrative rules administered by its Division of Animal Industry:

 

Amendment of rules 901-19-01, Definitions; 901-19-05, Responsibilities of an exhibition sponsor; 901-19-06; Drug use notification; 901-19-07, Quality assurance; and, 901-19-33, Prohibited grooming practices.

 

The foregoing rules relate to the exhibition of livestock. The proposed amendments clarify the requirements for filing drug use notification forms; specify unethical grooming practices; and, add market poultry to the types of exhibition livestock regulated under the rules.

 

The amendments are being proposed to incorporate changes recommended by the Advisory Committee on Livestock Exhibitions.

 

The hearing will be held Monday, December 30, 2002, at 9:00 a.m., in Hearing Room 133, Bromfield Administration Building, Ohio Department of Agriculture, 8995 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068-3399.

 

The hearing will be conducted in accordance with Chapter 119 of the Revised Code. Any person affected by the proposed amendments of the rules may appear and be heard in person, by his attorney, or both, may present his position, arguments, or contentions, orally or in writing, offer and examine witnesses, and present evidence tending to show that the proposed rule, amendment or rescission, if adopted or effectuated, will be unreasonable or unlawful.
