    Notice

     

    The Ohio Department of Agriculture, State of Ohio, will hold a public hearing to accept testimony on the adoption of proposed new rules 901:2-1-01.1 and 901:2-3-01.1; and amendment of existing rules 901:2-1-02, 901:2-1-04, 901:2-3-02 and 901:2-3-04 the

    Administrative Code. These rules relate to the inspection of red meat and poultry under Ohio's meat inspection program.

     

    The two new rules being proposed in order to adopt recent changes made in the Federal meat inspection regulations governing sanitary standards in meat and poultry plants. The amendments to the remaining rules clarify that the definition of an "employee" of a central kitchen and caterer includes people who work as volunteers for the central kitchen or carterer and are under the kitchen's or carterer's direction and control.

     

    The hearing will be held on Monday, December 30, 2002, at 9:30 a.m., in hearing room 133, Bromfield Administration Building, Ohio Department of Agriculture, 8995 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068-3399.

     

    The hearing will be conducted in accordance with Chapter 119 of the Revised Code. Any person affected by the proposed amendments to the rules may appear and be heard in person, by his attorney, or both, may present his position, arguments, or contentions, orally or in writing, offer and examine witnesses, and present evidence tending to show that the proposed amendments to the rules, if adopted or effectuated, will be unreasonable or unlawful.
