STATE OF OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES

 

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO AMEND AND HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING ON STATE OF OHIO WATERCRAFT RULES

 

 

The Chief of the Division of Watercraft, pursuant to Section 1547.52 of the Ohio Revised Code, hereby gives notice of his intention to amend the following rules:

 

1501:47-1-20  Muffler noise regulations. 1501:47-9-02  Speed limitations.

and to adopt the following rules: 1501:47-6-01   Application.

1501:47-6-03  No wake operation permitted.

 

Administrative rule 1501:47-1-20 is being amended to correct the mailing address for the Division of Watercraft.  Administrative rule 1501:47-9-02 is being amended to include the phrase "or permit the operation of" in order to ensure that the owner or adult in charge of a vessel in operation is to be considered as the person responsible for legal operation of such vessel.

 

Administrative rules 1501:47-6-01 and 1501:47-6-03 are being adopted to create consistency in the regulations of the Division of Natural Areas and Preserves with the Division of Watercraft.

 

A public hearing on the proposed amendments and adoption of these rules will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 11, 2015 in the E-1 Assembly Center of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources located at 2045 Morse Road in Columbus, Ohio. At the public hearing, any person affected by the rule adoption may appear and be heard in person, or by an attorney, or both, and may present testimony, orally or in writing, and present evidence tending to show that these rules, if amended or rescinded, will be unreasonable or unlawful.
