    NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON RULE

    DATE: Friday, January 6 2012

    TIME: 10:00 A.M.

    In accordance with Chapter 119., the Ohio Ethics Commission will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule amendment on Friday, January 6, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the William Green Building, 30 West Spring Street, Room 1, Second Floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215.

    The purpose of the hearing is to solicit public comment on proposed changes to Rule No. 102-5- 05 of the Ohio Administrative Code. The rule is being amended to explain how the list of state boards and commissions whose members are required to file disclosure statements will be listed on the Commission Web site and made available to the public. The amendment also explains that the Commission's decision that members of a particular board or commission are required to file disclosure statements will apply to the members of that board or commission even if the name of the board or commission is changed.

    All interested persons are entitled to attend the hearing. At the hearing, people affected by the proposed actions may appear and be heard in person, by an attorney, or both; may present their positions, arguments, or contentions orally or in writing; may offer witnesses; and may present evidence tending to show that the proposed rules, if adopted or effectuated, will be unreasonable or unlawful. Written comments received in the Commission's offices by 5:00 on Thursday, January 5, 2012, will also be considered. Written comments can be mailed to Ohio Ethics Commission, ATTN: Rules, William Green Building, 30 West Spring Street L3, Columbus, Ohio, 43215, e-mailed to jennifer.hardin@ethics.ohio.gov or submitted by Fax to 614.466.8368.

    All oral and written comments presented at the hearing, and all timely received written statements will be considered by the Ohio Ethics Commission prior to final action on this Rule. The proposed rule can be viewed on the Register of Ohio (Web site).
