4715-3-01 Definitions.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Ohio State Dental Board will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Vern Riffe Center for the Government and the Arts, 77 S. High St., 31st Floor, Room South A, Columbus, Ohio for the purpose of adopting the following administrative rules.

4715-5-07 (Amended)	Use of conscious sedation.	Amendments update reference material citations.
4715-8-01 (Amended)	Continuing education requirements.	Amendments further clarify acceptable continuing education and an additional category of credit and definition for "Non- clinical dental related" continuing education.
4715-11-02 (Amended)	Basic qualified personnel; functions.	Amendments add periodontal susceptibility detection to permissible functions of basic qualified personnel.
4715-12-01 (Amended)	Permissible practices of a dental assistant radiographer; supervision required; certificate to be displayed.	Amendments allow for greater flexibility regarding display of current dental assistant radiographer certificate.
4715-12-02 (Amended)	Application for certificate; requirements; exceptions.	Amendments require certified dental assistant applicants for a dental assistant radiographer certificate must have completed an examination which included radiography as a component.
4715-12-03 (Amended)	Certificate renewal.	Amendments change non-renewal of the dental assistant radiographer certificate from "automatically suspended" to "expired" and allow for the certificate to be renewed upon completion of a 2-hour Board- approved course, application, and payment of a late fee.
4715-12-04 (Amended)	Accreditation of education programs; application; fee; suspension; revocation.	Amendment allows greater flexibility for inclusion of updated techniques in course curriculum for sponsors of initial training for radiographers.

4715-12-05 (Amended)	Continuing education requirements.	Amendment allows for greater flexibility for inclusion of updated techniques in course curriculums for continuing education courses for radiographers.
4715-20-02 (Amended)	Sterilization and disinfection.	Amendments further clarify sterilization procedures for high- speed and surgical handpieces, and for all instruments/items able to withstand heat sterilization to further ensure public safety.

Any person affected by the proposed rules may appear and be heard in person, through his/her attorney, or both; may present his/her position arguments, or contentions, orally or in writing; offer and examine witnesses; and present evidence tending to show that the amendments, if effectuated, will be unreasonable and unlawful.

A copy of this full text of said amended rules have been filed with the Secretary of State, Legislative Service Commission, and the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review at least thirty days prior to the date set for the hearing and a copy of the amended rules are available in printed form at the office of the Ohio State Dental Board, 77 S. High St., 17th Floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215-6135.
