THE CHANCELLOR OF THE OHIO BOARD OF REGENTS LEGAL NOTICE

 

 

The Chancellor of the Ohio Board of Regents will hold a public hearing on the following rules 3333-1-08 (Rescinded) and 3333-1-08 (New). The public hearing will take place on April 13, 2011 in the Board Room at the Ohio Board of Regents, located at 30 East Broad Street, 36th

Floor, Columbus, Ohio. The hearing will begin at 1 p.m. and will continue until all parties in attendance at that time have had an opportunity to provide comment.

 

•        3333-1-8 (Rescinded) is being proposed to be rescinded because of the need for a number of changes and updates to the rule. Rule 8 has not been revised in several years, and, as currently written, does not reflect best practice regarding standards and processes for the review of academic programs.

 

•        Rule 3333-1-8 (New) is being filed in order to update definitions and procedures. Specifically, the review process will be less cumbersome for institutions in good standing with the state and other accreditors, and the standards will better reflect recent changes in post-secondary education (e.g., online education, assessment of student learning, easier access to library materials).
