NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Ohio Department of Mental Health
Pursuant to section 119.03 of the Ohio Revised Code, notice is hereby given that the Department intends to conduct a public hearing.
The following rules are being proposed:
New Rules
Intensive Home and Community Based Services (IHCBS)
Creates the certified service of Intensive Home and Community Based Services (IHCBS), a promising practice that is designed to stabilize children who are at-risk of placement and are experiencing a serious emotional disability.
Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)
Creates the certified service of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT). ACT is an evidenced-based practice for the highest need mentally ill adults. Research consistently shows that clients receiving ACT services use less hospital and crisis services, while maintaining higher independent housing stability than their peers in traditional mental health services.

Testimony for the Public Hearing may also be sent to Ms. Hay in case it is not possible to attend the Public Hearing. To be included in the hearing record, it must be received no later than the day before the hearing. If it is known that an interpreter for the hearing impaired will be needed for the Public Hearing, please contact Ms. Hay in this regard.
