    PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

    OHIO DEPARTMENT OF JOB AND FAMILY SERVICES

     

     

    DATE: 05/16/2016 TIME:  10:00 A.M.

    Pursuant to sections 3121.8911, 5107.05, 5115.05 and Chapter 119. of the Ohio Revised Code, the Director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services gives notice of the department's intent to amend the rules as identified below and of a public hearing thereon due to five-year review.

     

    Rule 5101:1-2-85, entitled Cash Assistance: New Hire Reporting Program (W-4). This rule describes the new hire reporting program and how the information is to be used by county  agencies. Changes to the rule include defining "newly hired" pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 653a; removing "rehires" and adding "contractors" to the type of employees for whom employers must provide information to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. No changes were made to          the county agencies' responsibilities when a new hire alert is received.

     

    Rule 5101:1-3-07, entitled Ohio Works First: Evidence of Age, Citizenship, and Identity. This rule describes the age, citizenship and identity verification requirements for the Ohio Works First program. This rule is being amended for minor language changes to improve clarity. No substantive changes were made.

     

    Rule 5101:1-3-09, entitled Ohio Works First: Social Security Number Requirement. This rule describes the social security number requirement for the Ohio Works First program. This rule is being amended for minor language changes to improve clarity. No substantive changes were made.

     

    A copy of the proposed rules are available, without charge, to any person affected by the rules at the address listed below. The rules are also available on the internet at http://www.registerofohio.state.oh.us/. A public hearing on the proposed rules will be held at the date, time, and location listed at the top of this notice. Either written or oral testimony will be taken at the public hearing. Additionally, written comments submitted or postmarked no later than the date of the public hearing will be treated as testimony.
