4701-17-02 Scholarship eligibility criteria.
(A) The criteria that must be met in order for
a studentan applicant to qualify for a tier one scholarship commitment are as follows:(1) The
studentapplicant must be a minority student, defined in paragraph (A) of rule 4701-17-01 of the Administrative Code, or other student demonstrating financial need in accordance with the methodology in paragraph (B) of rule 4701-17-01 of the Administrative Code.(2) The
studentapplicant must be enrolled as a student in an accredited Ohio college or university.(3)
The student must be a full time student as defined by the college or university.(4)(3) Thestudentapplicant must be of sophomore, junior, or senior standing as defined by the college or university.A studentAn applicant may apply for a scholarship commitment more than once, but thestudentapplicant cannot receive more than one scholarshipcommitmentgrant.(5)(4) Thestudentapplicant must have declared a major in accounting or be enrolled in a program that, upon completion, would meet the educational requirements described in division (D)(1)(b) of section 4701.06 of the Revised Code and rule4701-3-084701-3-03 of the Administrative Code.(6)(5) Thestudentapplicant must be a student who is academically in good standing as defined by the college or university.(7)(6) Thestudentapplicant is an Ohio resident as defined in paragraph(G)(I) of rule 4701-17-01 of the Administrative Code.(B)The applicant's college or university must certify on the commitment application that the applicant meets the eligibility criteria outlined in paragraph (A) of this rule.
(C)Tier one scholarship commitments made to seniors are valid for three calendar years from the date of the award. Tier one scholarship commitments made to juniors are valid for four calendar years from the date of the award. Tier one scholarship commitments made to sophomores are valid for five calendar years from the data of the award.
(B)(D) The minimum criteria which must be met in order for a student to receive money awarded to a college or university for a tier two scholarshipcommitmentare as follows:(1) The student must be enrolled in a
five year accountingfive-year degree programwhich will qualify the candidate to take the CPA examination, asdefined in paragraph(F)(H) of rule 4701-17-01 of the Administrative Code.(2) The student must be academically in good standing as defined by the college or university.
(3) The college or university must require that the student demonstrate financial need in accordance with the methodology in paragraph (B) of rule 4701-17-01 of the Administrative Code.
(E) A college or university may set criteria for tier two scholarships in addition to those outlined in paragraph (D) of this rule.
