    Board of Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics

    Pursuant to Section 4779 and Chapter 119 of the Ohio Revised Code, the State Board of Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics gives notice of the Board's intent to consider adopting the following administrative rules:

    Rule 4779-1-01, entitled "Public Hearings on Adoption, Amendment, or Rescission of Rules: Methods of Public Notice" is being proposed for adoption to provide the general public with changes or amendments in administrative rules.

    Rule 4779-1-02, entitled "Notice of Board Meetings" is being proposed for adoption to provide the general public with notices of regularly scheduled meetings of the Board, as well as special meetings.

    Rule 4779-2-01, entitled "Board Organization" is being proposed for adoption to provide information as to the Board member's terms and responsibilities in the meetings.

    Rule 4779-2-02, entitled "Personnel" is being proposed for adoption to detail information about administrative personnel.

    Rule 4779-2-03, entitled "Board Records" is being proposed for adoption to detail record retention.

    Rule 4779-3-01, entitled "Definition of terms" is being proposed for adoption to describe terminology within the rules.

    Rule 4779-4-01, entitled "Approval of Educational Programs" is being proposed for adoption to detail acceptable educational programs.

    Rule 4779-5-01, entitled "The Examinations" is being proposed for adoption for recognition of testing agency.

    Rule 4779-5-03, entitled "Admission to the Examination" is being proposed for adoption for definition of pre-requisites to testing.

    Rule 4779-5-04, entitled "License Application Procedure" is being proposed for adoption to inform the applicant of requirements for licensure.

    Rule 4779-6-01, entitled "Temporary License Application Procedure" is being proposed for adoption to inform the applicant of requirements for a temporary license.

    Rule 4779-7-01, entitled "Original License Certificate and Wallet Identification Card" is being proposed for adoption to provide guidelines for usage and length of duration.

    Rule 4779-8-01, entitled "Renewal of License Certificate" is being proposed for adoption for guidelines and requirements for licensure renewal.

    Rule 4779-9-01, entitled "General OPPCE Requirements and Reporting Mechanism for Continuing Education for Orthotics, Prosthetics or Pedorthics" is being proposed for adoption for responsibilities and requirements of CE credits.

    Rule 4779-9-02, entitled "Activities which meet the OPPCE Requirements" is being proposed for adoption for description of acceptable CE credits.

    Rule 4779-10-01, entitled "Ethical and Professional Conduct" is being proposed for adoption to provide the public with guidelines for ethical conduct.

    Rule 4779-10-02, entitled "Proper use of Credentials" is being proposed for adoption to inform practitioners of credential usage.

    Rule 4779-12-01, entitled "Fees" is being proposed for adoption to provide practitioners with a fee schedule.

    Rule 4779-12-02, entitled "Replacement of License Wall Certificate" is being proposed for adoption to list fees charged for certificates and licenses.

    The hearing will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2002, in the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts, 31st floor, 77 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio, 43215, in room South A at 6:00 p.m.

    Any person affected by the proposed new rules may appear and be heard in person, by his/her attorney, or both, may present his/her position, arguments, or contentions, orally or in writing, offer and examine witnesses, and present evidence tending to show that the proposed rule, if adopted or effectuated, will be unreasonable or unlawful. Persons may also submit their positions, arguments, or contentions in writing for a reasonable period before or after the hearing.
