    The Boater Freedom Act (HB 29) requires the chief of the division of watercraft to adopt rules governing vessel safety inspection checkpoints. Vessel safety inspections are a required component of participation in the federal recreational boating safety program, which provides substantial funding for Ohio's boating safety & enforcement activities.
