Mini?um qualifications for certification as a ?rit ins?uctor shall be ? follows:

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR. Law en?rcement experience does not automatically quali? ? sec?ity-related exp?ience. The determination of applicability will be based upon the ?nctions p??rmed ? a law en?rcement officer; and
?) Completion of a course of instruction APPROVED BY THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR designed to prep?·e the individual to teach ? ?c ???It I??I. Such
??ses shall include instruc?on in the ?eories of ??H learning, teaching teeht?q?S,?e?avioral objectives, use of audio-visual aids, and an exercise in
practice te??ng. Credit for this requirement may be g?ted by the executive director for eauivalent ??ng or experience;

(C) Topic instructors will be certified only to teach topics within a unit or units of the curriculum, not to exceed five topics. TOPIC INSTRUCTORS SHALL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR APPROVAL FOR THE UNARMED SELF-DEFE?SE A?D FIREARMS UNITS? Minimum qualifications for certi?cation ? a topic instructor shall ? ? follows

(1) Unit instructors shall renew their certification ev?y three years. AT LEAS? SIXTY DAYS AND NO MORE THAN NINETY DAYS PRIOR TO EXPIRATION OF THE CER?IFICATE, THE INSTRUCTOR SHALL F?E, ON A FORM PRESCRIBED BY THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, THE FOLLOWil?G:???'?l reeffiremeRts shall be as feUews:
(a) Mast te?eh WRITTEN EVIDENCE FROM THE COMMANDER(S) THAT
THE INSTRUCTOR HAS TAUGHT in at least two ee??il COMMISSION approved co?ses m that time eerioo DUR?G T?E MOST RECENT
CER?' IFICATION PERIOD; and
(b) Must attend at least fifteen clock hours of professional development or continuing education relative to at least one of the ?e? for which the individual is certified... D?RING THE MOST RECENT CERTIFICATION PERIOD. Documentation of attendance or completion ?om the ?aining agency or in??tion must be submitted.
