    NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

     

     

     

    In accordance with Chapter 119 of the Revised Code, the Public Health Council will conduct public hearings beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2006, in the 8th Floor Conference Room of the Ohio Department of Health, 246 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio, to consider the following proposed actions:

     

    to amend Ohio Administrative Code (O.A.C.) rules 3701:1-38-01, 3701:1-38-02, 3701:1-38-05, 3701:1-38-06, 3701:1-38-08, 3701:1-38-10, 3701:1-38-11, 3701:1-38-

    14 to 3701:1-38-16, 3701:1-38-18, 3701:1-38-19, 3701:1-38-21 to 3701:1-38-23

    pertaining to general radiation protection standards for sources of radiation;

     

    to amend O.A.C. rules 3701:1-40-30 and 3701:1-40-33 pertaining to radiation protection requirements; and

     

    to amend O.A.C. rules 3701:1-50-01 to 3701:1-50-03, 3701:1-50-05, 3701:1-50-07,

    3701:1-50-09, 3701:1-50-10, 3701:1-50-16 to 3701:1-50-19, 3701:1-50-23, and

    3701:1-50-24; to rescind current rules and to adopt new rules 3701:1-50-06, 3701:1- 50-11 to 3701:1-50-13, 3701:1-50-25, and 3701:1-50-26 pertaining to packaging and transportation requirements for radioactive materials.

     

    These rules have been reviewed pursuant to Revised Code 119.032 (five-year review). Besides minor technical changes, amendments are being proposed to keep these rules compatible with recently revised federal regulations.

     

    At the hearings, people affected by the proposed actions may appear and be heard in person, by their attorney or both; may present their positions, arguments, or contentions orally or in writing; may offer witnesses; and may present evidence tending to show that the proposed rules, if adopted or effectuated, will be unreasonable or unlawful.
