NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

In accordance with Chapter 119 of the Ohio Revised Code (ORC), the Public Health Council (PHC) and the Director of Agriculture will conduct a public hearing, at the time and place listed above, concerning their proposal to amend Ohio Administrative Code rules 3717-1-01, 3717-1- 02, 3717-1-02.2 to 3717-1-08.4, and 3717-1-20; and to rescind current and propose new rule 3717-1-02.1. These rules pertain to the Ohio Uniform Safety Code, which is the statewide standard for food safety in food service operations and retail food establishments. As required by ORC 3717.05, the Ohio Uniform Safety Code must be based on the most current version of the FDA Model Food Code; thus, the proposed amendments are based upon, and do not vary significantly from, the 2005 Model Food Code and Supplement.

 

In addition to the hearing that is the subject of this public notice, the PHC will conduct two previously announced hearings at the same August 21st meeting. Those rules concern radiation protection standards and sources of radiation.

 

At the rule hearings, people affected by the proposed actions may appear and be heard in person, by their attorney or both; may present their positions, arguments, or contentions orally or in writing; may offer witnesses; and may present evidence tending to show that the proposed rules, if adopted or effectuated, will be unreasonable or unlawful.
