    Notice of Public Hearing

     

     

    A public hearing will be held by the Office of Attorney General Marc Dann, on Monday, August 27, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the Lobby Hearing Room of the Rhodes State Office Tower, located at 30

    E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio, 43215. The purpose of the hearing will be to solicit public comment on the proposed Ohio Peace Office Training Academy rules for the Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 109:2-18 dealing with continuing professional training for peace officers.

    The rules are being proposed due to the enactment of SB 281 by the 126

    General Assembly.

    The administrative rules include new rules 109:2-18-01 through 109:2-18-07. These seven rules are being proposed to provide the necessary framework for implementing the continuing professional training program that was enacted in SB 281 from the 126th General Assembly. The proposed rules cover such topics as definitions, officer training requirements, training and instructor qualification, reimbursement of training costs, agency record keeping requirements,

    enforcement and program funding.

    All interested parties are invited to attend the hearing and present oral and/or written testimony. Written comments should be submitted to Mr. Doug Crew, Office of Attorney General, at 30 E.
