    OHIO DEPARTMENT OF JOB AND FAMILY SERVICES

    Pursuant to Sections 5107.05 and Chapter 119. of the Ohio Revised Code, the Director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services gives notice of the department's intent to amend the rule as identified below and of a public hearing thereon.

     

    Rule 5101:1-2-30, entitled Citizenship: Ohio Works First and Disability Financial Assistance, is being proposed for amendment. This rule sets forth the policy regarding eligibility for citizenship requirements for the county department of job and family services (CDJFS). The rule has been amended to include policy authorized under Public Law 110-161 which granted certain Iraqi and Afghan aliens special immigrant status under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). Individuals and family members granted this special immigrant status are eligible for resettlement assistance, entitlement programs, and other benefits the same as refugees.

     

    A copy of the proposed rule is available, without charge, to any person affected by the rule at the address listed below. The rule is also available on the internet at (http://www.registerofohio.state.oh.us/. A public hearing on the proposed rule will be held at the date time, and location listed at the top of this notice. Either written or oral testimony will be taken at the public hearing. Additionally, written comments submitted or postmarked no later than the date of the pubic hearing will be treated as testimony.
