    NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

    Ohio Department of Mental Health

     

    Pursuant to section 119.03 of the Ohio Revised Code, notice is hereby given that the Department intends to conduct a public hearing.

     

    The following rules from the ODMH Certification Standards are being proposed:

     

    New and Rescind Rules

    5122-29-03      Behavioral Health Counseling and Therapy Service.

    The current rule, which was effective March 25, 2004 is being rescinded and replaced. The replacement rule is identical to the current rule with two additions: 1) inclusion of provisions for the use of interactive videoconferencing; and 2) inclusion of marriage and family therapists and independent marriage and family therapists as professionals able to provide and/or supervise the service.

     

    5122-29-05      Pharmacologic Management Service.

    The current rule, which was effective March 25, 2004 is being rescinded and replaced. The replacement rule is identical to the current rule with one addition: inclusion of provisions for the use of interactive videoconferencing.

     

     

    Amended Rules

    5122-24-01      Definitions.

    Updates OAC cites to current definitions of "activity" and "ISP". Adds definitions of "interactive videoconferencing", "marriage and family therapist", independent marriage and family therapist", "practitioner" and "student".

     

    5122-25-02      Accreditation Requirements.

    States the date for attainment of appropriate behavioral health accreditation as September 30, 2006.

     

    5122-29-04      Mental Health Assessment Service.

    Adds marriage and family therapists and independent marriage and family therapists as professionals able to provide and/or supervise the service.

     

            Partial Hospitalization Service.

    Adds marriage and family therapists and independent marriage and family therapists as professionals able to provide and/or supervise the service.

     

            Forensic Evaluation Service.

    Adds marriage and family therapists and independent marriage and family therapists as professionals able to provide and/or supervise the service.

     

     

     

     

     

            Behavioral Health Hotline Service.

    Adds marriage and family therapists and independent marriage and family therapists as professionals able to provide and/or supervise the service.

            Crisis Intervention Mental Health Service.

    Adds marriage and family therapists and independent marriage and family therapists as professionals able to provide and/or supervise the service.

    Employment/Vocational Service.

    Adds marriage and family therapists and independent marriage and family therapists as professionals able to provide and/or supervise the service.

    Adult Education Service.

    Adds marriage and family therapists and independent marriage and family therapists as professionals able to provide and/or supervise the service.

            Social and Recreational Service.

    Adds marriage and family therapists and independent marriage and family therapists as professionals able to provide and/or supervise the service.

    5122-29-17      Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment (CPST) Service.

    Adds marriage and family therapists and independent marriage and family therapists as professionals able to provide and/or supervise the service.

            Consultation Service.

    Adds marriage and family therapists and independent marriage and family therapists as professionals able to provide and/or supervise the service.

            Prevention Service.

    Adds marriage and family therapists and independent marriage and family therapists as professionals able to provide and/or supervise the service.

            Mental Health Education Service.

    Adds marriage and family therapists and independent marriage and family therapists as professionals able to provide and/or supervise the service.

    5122-29-23      Adjunctive Therapy Service.

    Adds marriage and family therapists and independent marriage and family therapists as professionals able to provide and/or supervise the service.

    Testimony for the Public Hearing may also be sent to Ms. Swank in case it is not possible to attend the Public Hearing. To be included in the hearing record, it must be received no later than the day before the hearing.
