901:11-1-03 Materials deleted from the PMO.

 

 

PUBLIC NOTICE

 

The Ohio Department of Agriculture will hold a public hearing for the purpose of accepting testimony on the proposed amendments made to Chapter 901:11-1 of the Ohio Administrative Code.

 

The rules in this package amplify the statutory authority of the Department to regulate milk and milk products in the state of Ohio. Specifically, the rules in this package are being amended, rescinded, and established to remain consistent with the Federal Grade A Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO). The PMO sets minimum standards and requirements for Grade A milk. These standards are recommended by the National Conference on Interstate Milk Shipments, an industry group comprised of both state regulators and representatives from the dairy industry. The PMO is updated every two years, and the Department adopts the PMO and incorporates changes to ensure it is suitable for Ohio's farmers and consumers.

The hearing will be conducted in accordance with Chapter 119 of the Revised Code. Any person affected by the no change rule package may appear and be heard in person, by his attorney, or both, may present his position, arguments, or contentions, orally or in writing, offer and examine witnesses, and present evidence tending to show that the no change rule package, if adopted or effectuated, will be unreasonable or unlawful.
