    Notice of Public Hearing

     

     

    A public hearing will be held by the Office of Attorney General Marc Dann, on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 4 PM at the Bureau of Identification and Investigation (BCI&I) building located at 1560 St. Rte. 56, SW, London, Ohio 43140. The public hearing will be held in the main lobby area. The purpose of the hearing will be to solicit public comment on the proposed Bureau of Identification and Investigation rules for the Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 109:5- 1 dealing with procedures for requesting criminal records.

    The rules are being proposed due to the enactment of SB 97 by the 127

    General Assembly and

    to update the procedure for requesting criminal record checks. The administrative rules include amended rule 109:5-1-01 which establishes a tiered structure for background check fees. Also, new rules 109:5-1-03 and 109:5-1-04 are being proposed to provide the necessary framework for implementing the retained applicant fingerprint database program that was enacted in SB 97 from the 127th General Assembly.

    All interested parties are invited to attend the hearing and present oral and/or written testimony. Written comments should be submitted to Mr. Doug Crew, Office of Attorney General, at 30 E.
