Estimated cost of compliance for students is limited as they can usually find internships through their schools as part of their coursework. Estimated costs for professional counselors and professional clinical counselors will vary as the new requirements are 24 hours of supervison training over four specified areas. Those course may cost more than the continuing education they would have taken had they not sought supervision designation, but may also be less. Costs for agencies to develop the continuing education courses is hard to quantify, but could be significant as these are complex issue requiring great detail. Licensees are required to obtain 30 hours of continuing education to renew their licenses every two years.
