5160-1-19.1. References to the "International Classification of Diseases (ICD)"

Rules in agency 5160 of the Administrative Code and related forms may include the phrase "the ninth revision of the International Classification of Diseases" (October 1, 1978) "ICD-9" or an equivalent expression. When such a rule or form concerns a service rendered, a procedure performed, an item supplied, or a hospital discharge completed on or after October 1, 2015, the phrase is deemed to refer instead to "the tenth revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems" (October 1, 2015), "ICD-10," or an equivalent expression.
