NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO ADOPT RULES

The Office of the Secretary of State will hold a public hearing on Monday, December 6, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. on the 15th floor in the large conference room of the Continental Plaza Building, located at 180 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215.  Visitors must register at the front desk in the first floor lobby before proceeding to the 15th floor.  The purpose of the hearing is to solicit public comment on the following rules:

·         111-1-03: Delineates the regulations associated with loans granted to candidates in state and local elections.

·         111-1-04: Regards the establishment and utilization of the name of a campaign or political action committee.

·         111-4-08: Prohibits the solicitation of contributions for a particular candidate by a corporation, nonprofit corporation, or labor organization's PAC or federal, state and local political action committee (FSL) PAC.

·         111-4-09: Describes what constitutes communications of Corporation and Labor Organization as well as describes permissible practices for the placement of campaign signs on corporation, nonprofit corporation or labor organization's property.

·         111-5-20: Addresses amendments relative to the secretary of state or the board of elections' responsibility to examine all statements and specifies notice response timelines and procedure.

 

All interested persons are invited to attend the hearing and present testimony.  All written statements must be received by the Office at the close of the hearing record.  If you wish to provide verbal testimony, please register at the hearing prior to the start of the hearing.
